Sky UK subscribers can now enjoy watching their favorite shows anytime and anywhere with the Sky Go mobile app. This multimedia app makes it quicker for Sky TV customers to stream live TV channels and on-demand content. Not only that, but they can also share their subscription with another user to use at the same time. For paying extra, they will be able to download movies and TV shows and watch them offline.
What can you get with Sky Go?
What you can watch on the mobile version depends on your subscription package. You can stream over a hundred live channels, including the free-to-air favorites and the popular paid Sky channels. You only need to launch the app and browse through its catalog to see every channel offering. More than the live channels, the app also comes with video-on-demand feature so you can stream video content anytime you want.
As noted, if you are a Sky customer, Sky Go will already be a part of your package, so streaming using the app will be available to you for free. More so, you can share your account with another user at no extra cost. With this, two devices can stream at the same time. You can also download any content and stream them online. However, to do so, you need to subscribe to the Sky Go Extra.
Compared to the web version, the video quality of the Sky Go mobile app is a little better—although still not at par with other streaming apps. There are still a few gripes within the app, though. For one, it does not come with a landscape option, so you can only watch in portrait orientation. More, some of the channels are hard to find. There is a TV guide feature, but navigating through the list is also hard.
